- Step 1: Clean the ends of the PVC pipes and the inside of the socket with a PVC cleaner. This ensures a proper bond - See Figure 1.
- Step 2: Apply PVC solvent cement to the pipe ends and the inside of the socket. Use enough cement for a tight connection.
- Step 3: Immediately insert the pipes into the socket and twist them slightly to distribute the cement evenly.
- Step 4: Hold the connection firmly for a few seconds until the cement has set.
- Step 5: Allow the connection to cure for at least 5 minutes before putting the system into operation.
