Info: The fleshy, light leaf-stalks are prepared like asparagus. Young leaves are steamed and served as vegetables. Stalks and leaves can be harvested continuously.
Care: Sow 2-3 cm deep (dark germination) from April to August in rows 40 cm apart directly outdoors, keep the sowing moist. Thin out strong seedlings to 25 cm apart. Loves sunny to partially shaded locations, on humus-rich, deeply loosened garden soil.
Tip: To enable continuous harvesting, always leave the inner leaves standing so that the plant can regrow.
