Info: "Rex" is a fast-growing, medium to long summer radish that is ideal for growing outdoors and under glass. It does not become spongy even in summer.
Care: Sow indoors from mid-January to April or later in cold frames, about 0.5 - 1 cm deep. From May to June, sow directly outdoors in rows 20 - 25 cm apart. Space about 15 cm apart within the row. Thin out if plants are too dense. Loves sunny to semi-shady locations and humus-rich, deep soils.
Tip: Summer radish thrives particularly well in mixed culture with tomatoes, carrots, and lettuce. Salt radishes half an hour before consumption to make them more tender.
Sowing: Mid-January - April indoors; May - June outdoors
Germination: 5 - 10 days at 12 - 20°C
Harvest: May - August, 9 - 10 weeks after sowing
