How to Grow Celery
- Step 1: Sowing (March - May Indoors): Gently press the seeds and cover them thinly with soil, as celery needs light to germinate. Keep the soil moist at a minimum of 18°C.
- Step 2: Pricking Out: If necessary, prick out the seedlings as soon as they are large enough.
- Step 3: Planting Out (May - June): Harden off the strong plants and plant them shallowly at a distance of 40x40 cm.
- Step 4: Location: Choose a sheltered, sunny-warm location with humus-rich, sandy-loamy soil.
- Step 5: Care: Protect the crop from the cold to prevent bolting. Celery also thrives well under glass or foil.
