How to Use (Step-by-Step)
- Step 1: Prepare the Surface - Ensure the wood is clean, dry, and free from any previous finishes. Sand the surface lightly to open the pores. See Figure 1.
- Step 2: Apply the First Coat - Using a brush, roller, or cloth, apply a thin, even coat of the decking oil to the wood. Work in the direction of the grain. See Figure 2.
- Step 3: Allow to Penetrate - Let the oil penetrate the wood for 15-20 minutes. This allows the oil to soak in and provide maximum protection. See Figure 3.
- Step 4: Wipe Off Excess - Use a clean cloth to wipe off any excess oil from the surface. This prevents a sticky or glossy finish. See Figure 4.
- Step 5: Apply a Second Coat (Optional) - For enhanced protection and a richer finish, apply a second thin coat of oil following the same steps as above. See Figure 5.
- Step 6: Allow to Dry - Allow the oil to dry completely for 24-48 hours before using the treated surface. This ensures the oil is fully absorbed and the surface is ready for use. See Figure 6.
