How to Use (Step-by-Step)
- Step 1: Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from loose rust, dirt, or grease. Use a wire brush or sandpaper to remove any existing rust. See Figure 1.
- Step 2: Stir the Primer: Thoroughly stir the construction primer to ensure a consistent mixture. Avoid shaking, as this can create air bubbles.
- Step 3: Application: Apply a thin, even coat of primer using a brush, roller, or spray gun. For best results, apply in smooth, overlapping strokes. See Figure 2.
- Step 4: Drying Time: Allow the primer to dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions (usually 2-4 hours). Ensure adequate ventilation during the drying process.
- Step 5: Sanding (Optional): If desired, lightly sand the primed surface with fine-grit sandpaper to create an even smoother surface for the topcoat.
