How to Use

1. Step 1: Surface Preparation: Clean the metal surface to remove loose rust, dirt, and grease. A wire brush or sandpaper can be used for this purpose. (See Figure 1)
2. Step 2: Application as a Paint Additive: Add the rust inhibitor to your oil-based paint according to the paint manufacturer's instructions. Typically, a ratio of 10-20% inhibitor to paint is recommended. (See Figure 2)
3. Step 3: Application as a Rust Sealant: Apply the rust inhibitor directly to the prepared metal surface using a brush, roller, or spray gun. Ensure even coverage. (See Figure 3)
4. Step 4: Drying Time: Allow the treated surface to dry completely before applying any topcoat or putting the item back into service. Drying time will vary depending on temperature and humidity, but typically takes 24-48 hours. (See Figure 4)
5. Step 5: Cleanup: Clean your application tools with mineral spirits or paint thinner. (See Figure 5)
