- Step 2: Apply the Adhesive: Carefully apply a thin, even layer of the PMMA adhesive to one or both of the surfaces to be joined. Avoid applying too much adhesive, as this can weaken the bond – See Figure 2.
- Step 3: Join the Surfaces: Immediately bring the surfaces together and apply gentle pressure to ensure full contact. Hold the pieces in place for at least 1-2 minutes to allow the adhesive to start bonding – See Figure 3.
- Step 4: Allow to Cure: Allow the adhesive to cure completely. Full curing time may vary, but typically takes around 24 hours for maximum strength. Avoid moving or stressing the joint during this time – See Figure 4.
