How to Use (Step-by-Step)
- Step 1: Prepare the Surface: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free of any previous finishes. Sand the surface smooth with fine-grit sandpaper.
- Step 2: Apply the First Coat: Stir the hardwax oil well and apply a thin, even coat using a brush, roller, or lint-free cloth. Work the oil into the wood grain.
- Step 3: Remove Excess Oil: After a few minutes, use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe away any excess oil from the surface.
- Step 4: Allow to Dry: Let the first coat dry for at least 8-10 hours in a well-ventilated area.
- Step 5: Apply the Second Coat: Lightly sand the surface with very fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 400-grit) to create a smooth surface for the second coat. Apply a second thin, even coat of hardwax oil.
- Step 6: Remove Excess Oil (Again): Wipe away any excess oil with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Step 7: Final Drying Time: Allow the second coat to dry completely for at least 24 hours before using the surface.
