How to Use (Step-by-Step)
- Step 1: Prepare the Surface: Clean the area to be repaired, removing any loose paint, rust, or debris. Sand the surface lightly to create a better bond. See Figure 1.
- Step 2: Shake the Can: Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least two minutes to ensure the putty is properly mixed. This will give you the best consistency.
- Step 3: Apply the Putty: Hold the can 8-10 inches away from the surface and apply a thin, even coat. Avoid applying too much in one go to prevent runs. See Figure 2.
- Step 4: Allow to Dry: Let the putty dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions (usually 15-30 minutes). Drying times may vary depending on temperature and humidity.
- Step 5: Sand the Surface: Once dry, sand the putty smooth with fine-grit sandpaper. Feather the edges to blend seamlessly with the surrounding surface. See Figure 3.
