Made by machine, by casting, in smooth or hammered copper, with brass handles or iron arches, they offer something for every taste.
These copper pots are intended for cooking, usually squid or jam, but they can be used for many other dishes or even for brewing beer. They are made entirely of copper (inside and outside), with the exception of the handles (brass) or the bow (iron).
The copper pots are not tinned on the inside and for this reason you need to remove the food after you have cooked it so that the copper does not oxidize and the food does not absorb toxins.
In southern Portugal and in Spanish gastronomy, it is a tradition to cook the squid in a copper saucepan to give it a characteristic taste.
All copper pots and pans have a flat bottom and can be used on a ceramic hob, gas or wood stove. They should never be used on induction hobs.
