With the long-lever ratchets, you can generate significantly higher tension than with conventional ratchets. With the same hand force, you achieve more than double the pre-tensioning force. The load is lashed more tightly. The same load can be secured with considerably fewer lashing straps. The specified permissible tensile force is the value in the strapping. When used stretched, i.e. a "straight pull", the permissible tensile force is reduced by half!
