Ask a question to learn more about the product- Combats bird mites
- Long-term effect
- Effective
- Physical
There are three different ways to specifically combat mites: biological, physical, or chemical. Each is very effective on its own - when combined individually, they achieve synergistic effects!!
For moderate mite infestations, we recommend diatomaceous earth products, which are scattered or sprayed into corners, niches, perches, and nests. Additionally, MilbProtect can be mixed into drinking water.
Diatomaceous earth consists of the fossilized shells of dead diatoms. These have microscopically small, razor-sharp edges, which they use to specifically tear open the chitin shell of the parasites as soon as they come into contact with the substance. The pests are then virtually dried out.
The long-term effect also stops subsequent generations.
Using Diatomaceous Earth Spray:
Diatomaceous Earth Spray is a sprayable diatomaceous earth that can be used to specifically target perches, corners, and niches.
Using Diatomaceous Earth Powder:
Diatomaceous Earth Powder should be dusted into nests and all nooks, crannies, and hiding places of the parasites. It can also be added to the water or sand bath of pet birds, for example. A uniform white coating should be visible on all treated areas. If necessary, it can also be applied using a garden sprayer, mixed 1:6 with water. It is also recommended to add it to the bedding.
Notes:
Respiratory protection and safety goggles should be worn when applying!
