Ask a question to learn more about the productThe USS Constitution is a wooden, three-masted, heavy frigate of the United States Navy. Named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America, it is the world's oldest naval vessel still afloat. Laid down in 1797, the Constitution was one of six original frigates authorized for the Naval Act of 1794. Joshua Humphreys designed the frigates of the young navy as capital ships, and so the Constitution and her sister ships were significantly larger and more heavily armed and built than conventional frigates of the time.
Built in Boston, Massachusetts at the Edmund Hartt Shipyard, their first tasks in the newly founded United States Navy were to ensure the protection of the American merchant fleet during the Quasi-War with France and to defeat the privateers of the Barbary states.
This kit is a new release from "Billing Boats" and is produced in a very special laser quality.
Rich equipment through the extensive use of the engraving options of modern laser technology allows for the production of excellent kits at attractive prices. Hull planking and numerous brass fittings make these kits particularly valuable, and the modern computer graphics make the instruction sketches very clear and understandable.
