This small brig was one of the first generation of new naval brigs, and her lines were more of a cross between a sleek cutter and a brig. She was a small ship for her class, but what she lacked in size and raw gunpower she more than made up for in character. The Speedy had a very eventful history: in 1794, she was captured by French frigates and recaptured in March of the following year.
The 1:64 scale kit was extensively researched and developed to depict the ship as it likely appeared in 1800/01, when she was commanded by Thomas Cochrane.
