Model scenes often captivate with little gags and surprises that you don't suspect at first. The Falling Tree is just such a gag. The audience is in for a big surprise when, completely unexpectedly, an impressive, 17 cm tall tree falls to the ground at the edge of the model forest. The trick behind it is incredibly simple: There is a servo underneath the tree that causes it to fall to the ground in a realistic manner, first slowly, then faster, until it finally hits the ground with a slight wobble. After about 8 seconds, the tree stands up again on its own. The Falling Tree is an impressive, extremely realistic, hand-crafted wire twist tree that is elaborately flocked. The included electronics are connected to a standard 16-V model railway transformer and are suitable for both direct and alternating current.
