Which adhesive is suitable for PVC-U elbows and bends?
Use only PVC-U solvent cement on a solvent basis. These adhesives are specifically formulated for rigid PVC pipes and fittings. Apply the adhesive evenly to the pipe end and the inside of the fitting, join the parts together, and twist them a quarter turn to distribute the adhesive. The curing time is 15–30 minutes depending on temperature. Some manufacturers also offer Clamps + Adhesive + Cleaner sets that include cleaner for preparation and adhesive – ensure compatibility with your fittings. Can I connect an elbow with female thread directly to a faucet?
